The Giraffe Project

The Giraffe Project is a nonprofit organisation that moves people to stick their necks out for the common good and helps them do it better.

The Project honours "Giraffes", people who are sticking their necks out to make their world a better place. Members of the Project are urged to spot such people and report sightings to the Project.

The Project tells the stories of Giraffes to national and local media and in materials for schools and youth clubs. The strategy is simple: if you want to overcome apathy, cynicism and feelings of powerlessness, show what courageous, caring people can achieve.

The Project also gives workshops, speeches and seminars that help colleges, labour unions, government agencies, service organisations, companies and entire communities put Giraffe spirit and effectiveness into their work.

To join the Giraffe Project, you do not need to be a Giraffe, nor be seeking to nominate one. You do need to value courageous, compassionate service and to want more of it in the world.
