"Universities are statutory bodies whose management is the responsiblity of senates or councils. Their legistlation ensures that Ministers are not privy to the details of their day to day operations. The issues raised by the question are such that I could not be expected to have detalied knowledge appropriate to answer them. I understand that the matters being addressed by the questions are the subject of investigations by the Industrial Relations Commission. I have referred the questions to the Vice Chancellor with the request that the information be provided to the member directly."
